My whole life story. (Well, a good part of it.)
A dance school. Natural hair company. Custom apparel line. Online magazine. Nonprofit organization. Consulting firm. These are all businesses that Tip Jones successfully launched, starting at the blossoming age of 13.
As the Editor-in-Chief of POSE Magazine, this Bronx, NY native has featured and collaborated with personalities such as Goo Goo Atkins, Denise Duffield-Thomas, Lalah Hathaway, CeCe Winans, Nene Leakes, Michael Jai White, Fred Hammond, and the late Dr. Maya Angelou, just to name a few. She’s also worked with the likes of Gwen Devoe, creator and founder of Full Figured Fashion Week, serving as regional director of her Plus Academy Charlotte Division. Of POSE Magazine, Tip says: “I am proud of the longevity of POSE Magazine and The Consulting Studio, the successful launch of Confidence University, and ultimately, the creation of my parent company, Tip Jones Global, LLC.” Through these various brands, which all give synergy for her clients’ often complex business and personal lives, Tip is a speaker, workshop leader, and panelist.
Affectionately named “The Multiple Stream Queen” - Tip simply knew early on that she had a knack and true gift for developing uncommon yet effective solutions for various areas of need. She has the intuitive ability to teach others how to establish and succeed with their multiple ideas, gifts, and talents. It was in 2007 that she noticed a commonality amongst womenpreneurs she worked with: they were cash-strapped, unclear about their target audience, and lacked the confidence needed to charge the prices they truly deserved.
Serving both established and aspiring female entrepreneurs was the beginning of her motivation to become such a well-respected business coach, along with wanting to build a long-lasting family legacy for generations to come. “I want to be remembered for helping others do what they once believed they couldn’t,” Tip says. “I want my children to remember me as a supportive, loving, honest parent who set an example they can be proud of.”
This living example includes a person who has overcome numerous suicide attempts during her youth - something many others aren’t fortunate to speak of. She strives to use her personal and professional testimony to encourage women, and let them know that they too can be overcomers. All of these things propel Tip to live out one of her passions: connecting women to share and create action plans for their personal and entrepreneurial success.
As a diversity professional and vocal advocate for equity and inclusion, Tip held a seat on the Board of Directors at the Charlotte LGBT Chamber of Commerce in addition to several committees with the same values.
With over 25 years of entrepreneurship and nonprofit leadership at the helm, Tiffany is the founder of Tip Jones Global, a marketing and consulting firm that offers support, resources, and education to women-owned businesses, providing tailored solutions that reinstate vision and automate performance management towards profit and growth success. A native of Bronx, NY, Tip is married and resides in North Carolina with her husband, Eliah, and is a mom to two birth sons and three bonus babies.
